Always wanted to sample a grand piano, but what’s the point? The market is oversaturated of piano libraries, and making another one is pointless unless you make it differently. We sampled a grand piano in mono using a low quality cassette recorder. When I say “low quality” I mean “very low quality”. Unlike other libraries availabe, the piano used was new and tuned, just the recorder was old.

Drumalogue is the third title in Ian Boddy´s Waveforms series of sample libraries. This is a library of 1,000 analogue drum, percussion and one-shot hits. However these are not taken from vintage drum machines (of which there is already plenty of content available elsewhere) but rather all the sounds are hand crafted by Boddy on vintage analogue synths and modular systems. They run the full gamut from thunderous bass drums, crisp snares & hats through to abstract synth hits & FX and even weird glitchy & industrial sounds.

Filtered, mangled and messed up electronic drums

Beatalogue is the fourth title in Ian Boddy's Waveforms series of sample libraries.

As a follow up to Drumalogue this one takes as it's starting material a selection of electronic drum patterns and loops which are then fed through Boddy's massive modular synth system. These are then filtered, mangled and generally messed up using a huge number of modules all in the analogue domain.

But this collection is no joking matter, having suffered multiple levels of abuse in its creation, from analogue tape distortion to relentless bit-crunching, Drum Damage is a unique and powerful sample pack with an attitude; and when unleashed will wreak havoc non-stop, all the way to the clubs.
