We know that you don't like to waste your time reading rules and faq's, this is why we split this page, so you could only learn what you actually need, and if you need more - move to appropriate section.

There are some features that make this site unique, and we really want you to take full advantage of them.

AudioZ is the only source for fresh releases you'll ever need, so why not learn how to use it properly!

General Usage

there is only one main rule for all AudioZ members - be polite.

as a Member, you can get banned for two reasons:
1. offending another members (whatever the reason);
2. sharing links to other warez web-sites (spamming).

generally, that's all you need to know, to use AudioZ as a member

Understanding AudioZ

First of all, we'd like you to remember that AudioZ can be accessed by several addresses:
www.AudioZ.se
AudioZ.info
AudioZ.pro
both referring to the same page, but if one goes down, you still know how to find us.
..(in worst case scenario, you can find news at www.AudioSEX.pro)

Since the new version, we gave our main page for fresh releases only.
Consequentially, if all you care about is fresh releases, you can check the main page only.

However, please remember that there are a lot more to it than just main page!
AudioZ gets more than 40 posts every day, and usually only 25% of them goes to main page...
Therefore, don't be fooled by the main page updates and check all news at "recent posts" page, which can be found under the NAV menu.

but, the best way to track updates is definitely RSS.
if you haven't used it yet, downloading FeedDemon Lite would be the best way to start.
you can also try Google Reader.

if you going to become an active member, you might want to complete your profile; describe your studio gear, specifying facebook page and other stuff which will help you to communicate with other members.

Next step: Features. Please take a few more minutes of your time and read how to use AudioZ properly. This will save your time in future!

here are some special features that we'd like you to be familiar with:

Checking Links

before downloading a large amount of links, we recommend you to check if they are alive; sometimes you get first links working and think that others are alive as well; but sometimes it happens that only one part has been removed for some reason; and most likely you'll discover that only after you downloaded the whole thing.

this is why we integrated this simple links checker, which can be accessible from any article's right column, by clicking the "checkbox" icon. if you still not sure where it is, check this screenshot

Reporting Dead Articles

you know how frustrating it is, when you searching something for hours and only find dead links..
to prevent that, we integrated Dead Links Report;
so next time you see an article which has no valuable links alive, press the Report Dead Article icon, which is below the Check Links icon.
we urge you to report dead articles! this will help us keep AudioZ clean and shiny.

Reporting Abusive Comments

you can (and must) report abusive comments, along with comments that on your opinion violates our rules.
for that, there is a [report] link on every comment.

sayPress Thanks

instead of flooding the site with useless comments like ";)" and "thanks!" to show your appreciation, please simply click Say Thanks button.
- your nickname will be added to the list, and author will get +1 of "thanks" in his profile.

Mirrors

we want AudioZ to be clean and organized, but more than that we want you to get exactly what you looking for, as fast and simple as possible.
we bet you know how irritating it is, when you search for one release and get 10 different posts in the search results. ...and all dead
this is why we always been supporting mirrors, and now we made a special module which allows our Posters to add their links to any post that is already on the site;
as the result, you have a choice of many servers in one place;
post will never die;
Posters can continuously share and update their links;
everybody's happy.

Groups / Statuses

we have following statuses:
- conductor - administrator
- moderator
- contributor - active posters (authors)
- member+ - members with access to post mirrors
- resident - trusted members with abillity to see hidden posts
- member

Wrong password, Extraction errors

many newcomers often face the situation, when, during extraction of archive, error window pop's up with message like:
".part45.rar: wrong password", while the password you've entered is correct, or there is no password at all.
this and some other errors appear because one or several parts of archives has been downloaded with errors.
the best solution is to download that exact part again, preferably from different server (if the publisher has posted mirrors).
you can also try to Restore Archive, but sometimes it might go wrong..

Responding to Requests:

it is preferable to respond on request with complete post, not just comment. Requests section get cleaned up every month, so if you want your link to be useful for more people, you should create an article according to the Poster's Guide and then post links to that article in comments of the req.

Posting Requests

If you desperately searching for software that is not on AudioZ yet, you can submit a Request and hope that somebody will upload it for you.
to do that, go to NAV menu and click Add Article link;
put "REQ: " prefix before your title;
click on the magnifying glass icon right to the title field and check if anything similar has been posted already;
choose "request" section;
describe your problem.
Keep in mind that we won't publish trash requests;
in fact, if you don't follow simple rules that we just described, your request will be deleted without even checking it's content(!)
requests are basically useless for the site itself and 95% of our members, so if you want your request to be published, you have to make it perfect.
here is an example of a good request.
Remember:

  • You can't Request something that has been released recently! Give it some time... if nobody shares it for month after release date, then you can put your request.
  • Make sure you check Developers Blacklist
    - that, you don't want to request.
  • You can't request music or anything not directly related to audioz.
  • AudioZ is an international web-site with English as primary language. if you don't feel confident in your english skills, you can use Google Translate.
  • CAPITALIZED titles will never even be considered.

If you requesting ReUpload, check author's status first;
- if it's "Contributor", then you should contact the author before posting a ReUp request.
chances are, he would happily do reupload.
If you haven't took time to prepare your REQ-post, we won't take time to send you the removal notice.
those who followed the rules, should expect their request to appear in the appropriate section within 10 hours.

If you want to participate, or even get the Contributor status, you must learn these rules and prepare your articles accordingly.

Understanding Posting on AudioZ

Search before you submit a post.. and then Search again!
if you making a doublepost, there is no chance that we will approve it, and most likely you won't even receive removal notice.
with this new version we made the "checking" process easier - all you have to do before submitting a new article is paste the title and press the magnifying glass icon;
search results with 5 similar articles will appear under the title...
if you haven't found the release - go on and submit one.

Understanding Sections (Categories)

there is no way you can do things right if you don't know where to post.

carefully select apropriate section! if your post fits several sections, hold CTRL on your keyboard and click on required sections.

if you posting into SubCategory, you don't need to select the Category itself.
- Categories naturally contain everything that their SubCategories have;
so if you posting into sound effects, you don't need to select Samples and sound effects - only sound effects.

if you can't find related SubCategory for your release, then simply choose main Category.

we do not allow ReUploads anymore! Post mirrors instead.
In some cases you can contact moderator and ask him to insert your links into original thread.

Posting Conditions:

  • torrent links are not allowed
  • Always Search before submitting new article/request
  • Tick the "Fresh Release" checkbox only if you 100% sure it has been released recently.
    If you don't have the official release date, then it's not going to be the Fresh Release.
    ...getting banned for posting Old stuff as Fresh is very easy!
  • Fresh Release is considered to be "fresh" if it's been released less than three weeks ago
  • CAPITALIZED titles will not be accepted
  • Dots in titles must be replaced with Spaces ("This.Won't.Be.Posted.v1.3" to "This will be posted v1.3")
  • Thumbnails (Screenshots, Preview Pictures) must be uploaded on our server using this button:
  • YouTube videos can also be posted by clicking the appropriate button, but you need to set the "Long link" option on youtube video page
  • Pictures not higher than 300x300px [Short Article]
  • Pictures not higher than 700x700px [Full Article]
  • pictures must be aligned by [center], content (include links) aligned to the left side by default
  • in Short Article, keep description short
  • "ALL in ONE" home-made dump packs are prohibited
  • Multitracks and Magazines should not be posted on the main page (don't tick the Fresh Release checkbox)
  • long lists and information that may not be valuable should go inside [spoiler] tag ("SP" icon)
  • Uploaded.to is our primary file sharing serivce. Your post will not be processed if you haven't included a mirror to this service. If for some reason you cannot upload to Uploaded.to, you can replace it with MediaFire or RapidShare mirror.
  • we do not accept posts with links that can only be downloaded with premium account. you have to provide main links that can be accessed without any need to pay for it.
  • Pre-Posts are not allowed. Submit your post only when you have the release completely uploaded. Partial uploads are not accepted!
  • all links referring outside the AudioZ must be posted within [CODE] tag.
  • for Download links you can use [DOWNLOAD] [/DOWNLOAD] tag
  • you're allowed to post links to your referrals, as long as there are no links to warez web-sites;
    you're not allowed to post links to your file sharing folders collections.

examples of what is considered to be a good articles can be found under SECTIONS > Essential.

(!) Note that you will be permanently banned for sharing any kinds of links to warez web-sites, include addresses in archive names, links inside the archives, links in the .nfo's of your archives...
(!) we don't support multiple posts for one title, even if it was released by another team, or has different sample format.
(!) if you uploaded MULTiFORMAT release and found "WAV only" on the site (with alive links), you will have to post your links as a mirror.
if you want to add a voting into your post, submit your post, send the link to our staff and describe what question/answers you'd like to see in your voting.

We highly advice to upload screenshots to our server, this way they won't disappear and pages will be loading much faster.

whatever your status is, you must remember, if you trying to cheat AudioZ, chances you'll get banned are about 90%.
we take this very serious, so it is your main concern to do things by the book, otherwise you'll be doing them somewhere else.
even more responsibility applied to Contributors!
loosing this status and our trust is easy; getting it back - almost impossible.
if you ever unsure what to do, you can always contact us and ask!

PeepLink - Private Linking Service:

Since 2012, we teamed up with PeepLink.in - service, that helps to hide links on AudioZ.
The point is to make AudioZ more secure and protect links from getting removed so fast.
and the best part is, AudioZ not only doesn't host any copyrighted materials; we don't even host links to those nasty materials!
all we do is linking to PeepLink now...

From now on, all outgoing download links must be posted through PeepLink.
Any other links, like Home Page, may not be protected and posted as usual, within the [CODE] tag.

Here's how we want it to work:
in your post, you prepare everything as usual;
you paste your links to PeepLink, copy the generated link, paste it back to your post, specify which download sources you sharing... that's it!
after all, download section of your post should look like this:

Posting this way won't take too much of your time; you will find PeepLink icon among with other BBCode icons:
overall it will take about 5 seconds to get your links protected.

Refer to this thread for additional information

Allow Mirrors Option

Contributors who have access to admin panel have option to disable mirrors in their post;

this option should be used for exclusive releases only!
Overuse of this option will be punished. Please don't try to cheat on us.

If your status is lower than Contributor, you can still disable mirrors in your post by writing a personal note to moderator, directly in your post.

Please note that by disabling mirrors you take responsibility to reupload dead links and add additional mirrors by demand.

In addition, Contributors who have access to the admin panel can see members reports on dead posts.
If you disabling mirrors, you must check deadlinks page once in a few days.

Archives Compression

something to consider...
even though we won't force you to waste your time and compress your archives with the "Best" option, many members complain on posters who don't compress archives at all.

Member status does not allow to post mirrors using the Mirrors module, you can still post your links in comments, but since we have the Mirrors module, most likely that your links won't be used often.
If you want to participate in posting mirrors, you have to prove yourself as a trusted, valuable member;
also, you must have at least a few articles posted.
then you can apply for Member+ status which will give you the access to post mirrors.

those, who already have access to post mirrors, should post links only, without pictures or descriptions.
if you have links for a different format or different release group, you should specify those details before the links, inside [QUOTE], or [B] tags.
as always, all links referring outside the AudioZ must be posted within [CODE] tag.

Since 2012 we had to add a new rule:
Remote Uploads are prohibited.
Which means that you can't reupload stuff using remote servers, without even repacking original archives.
It's a shame I have to even explain this, but there are people that do nothing and try to make money on those, who actually try hard to prepare their release
they find a fresh post, download archives from that posts on their remote server, and upload the same archives, with the same CRC, to their file sharing accounts, and post it everywhere.
so, if hoster receives an abuse on that archive, they removing it along with any similar archives, so the link that original uploader has posted goes down too...

we understand that some contributors who make money on their uploads may not like this situation, but that may only occur because you looking on it from the wrong perspective;
- if you share quality releases and you've proven yourself to our members, then there's nothing you need to worry about - members will choose your links among others.
share quality releases, make yourself a good reputation, compress your archives well...
competition for the quality has been officially launched!

July 2012 Update:
We had to add an option to Disable Mirrors for Contributors who post Exclusive releases.
If you see Post Mirror button disabled, that means you cannot post mirrors under that post.

By disabling mirrors author takes responsibility to reupload his own links and add additional mirrors by demand.

Some developers don't want their products to appear on AudioZ, and we always respect that.
Doing otherwise can cause some serious consequences not only for Audioz, but for the poster himself.
