Roland Japan in the early 90's produced a series of 15 SN-U110 expensive expansion cards for the U-110, U-220, U-20, CM-64, MV-30 and D-70 synthesizers. Were used in many famous productions, Brass, Sax, Horns, Oboes, Bassoons, Super Strings, Latin Percussion, Guitars and the famous Pipe Organ. Until that time there were few realistic sounds in the modules, only the Synclavier accomplished this feat. It was only possible to use these sounds if you had the module to insert the card, now they are opened in Kontakt. Musicians still use these sounds today.
